CARBON FILTERS

Carbon has been used as a method of removing bad tastes and odours in water for many years.
The U.K. water utilities have to provide what is described as wholesome water however, the E.C. drinking water directive does not seem to consider taste. Consequently, water in some parts of the country, notably the London area, tastes strongly of chlorine. Whilst not pleasant, is not harmful, and the addition of a simple carbon filter will solve the problem.

This Carbon Filter element fits inside a standard 10" Filter housing, and designed for the effective reduction of the unwanted tastes and odours in water, particularly chlorine.
It is constructed so that the water is made to pass through the entire bed of carbon, assuring maximum contact time. There are inlet and outlet filter pads of 20 microns to assist sediment filtration, and to prevent the possibility of carbon fines entering the drinking water stream.
The filter should be changed every six months or 9,000 litres treated, which ever comes first.
