There are water filters available to remove or treat almost every pollutant found in water sources around the world. They vary from simple sediment units to those able to treat water borne bacteria and viruses . No one filter will solve all problems, so some installations may require more than one filter however, we feel our range covers the most often reported and treatable pollutants.

	BACTERIOLOGICAL FILTERS There are still many water sources throughout the world, both private and municipal containing bacteria. They can vary from the mostly harmless to the deadly. These filters, manufactured by Fairey Ceramics in the UK represent the pinnacle of bacteriological water filtration covering over 150 years experience of water filter manufacture. Produced as either gravity filters for wells, lakes or streams to pressure units fitted in their own special housing for connection to town mains. Fairey are now producing bacteriological filter elements that will fit to most standard filter housing.
	SEDIMENT FILTERS Generally used for water high in particulate matter i.e. grit and sand etc. or for pre-filtration, in addition to other filters or water treatment. Offers basic low cost filtration only. These elements will trap particulate matter ranging from less than 1 micron up to approximately 50 micron, depending on the pore size of element used.
	CARBON FILTERS Supplied in either block or granular form, generally used as a taste and odour filter, usually silver impregnated to inhibit the growth of bacteria within the carbon. Mostly used where the chlorine levels to treat bacteria and other pollutants is unpalatable, or when the water has the hydrogen sulfide "rotten egg" characteristic. Sometimes combined with a sediment filter of 5 to 20 microns allowing two operations to be carried out with one element. The inline version of this filter is used for the American style
	FLUORIDE REDUCTION FILTERS The debate rages in many parts of the world. Should the water utilities dose their water supplies with fluoride or not? For the most part many have no preference one way or the other, others are vehemently against it. For these the fluoride reduction filter has been developed. This element has been designed to reduce fluoride to a level of 0.5p.p.m.
	NITRATE REMOVAL FILTERS Nitrogen, used by farmers to encourage crop growth has found its way into water courses, resulting in some rural areas having high nitrate levels in their water supply, especially those with private sources. This pollutant can have an adverse effect on very young babies. This filter has been developed to simply overcome this problem.
	RE-MINERALISING FILTERS For the reduction of taste odour & chlorine plus, the re-mineralizing of drinking water from home reverse osmosis devices, or low pH water.
	MOBILE WATER FILTER A bacteriological filter for the mobile home or caravan. Protect yourself against bacteria whilst you are on holiday.
